Trip to Julia Creek then Mt Isa.
Easter 2009 was one to remember, we started out at 8.30am from Townsville and began to travel west. We got to Julia Creek around 4.30pm. We passed through Charters Towers the "dinosaur" trail towns of Hughenden and Richmond then to Julia Creek. We stayed overnight at the Julia Creek Hotel. Early morning we ventured further west to the mining town of Mt Isa. Some of the most amazing country you could see. It was the end of the wet season and all you could see was miles of golden coloured grasslands and the road was great. you could travel for 30 kilometres without a bend in the road.
